Announcing new feature – Full search on Pet businesses

We are glad to announce the launch of pet business database across 850+ cities in US and Canada. As a pet owner in US or Canada, you now have the option to search for a pet business in your city.

Once you click on the search button, this screen will appear.

Once you click on the categories, you will see this list of categories.

Select a pet business category which you want to search and in the next field, provide the business name you want to search. The following screen shows you the results of your pet business search in the Pet business category= Pet boarding.

By clicking on the one in your selected area, you will be able to open the details of that particular pet business..

Direct Calling from the search results: You will be able to call the pet business directly from the mobile app. This is a very convenient way to reach out to your pet business either associated with your pet or not.

Navigate to the Pet business:You can also click on the GPS button in the details screen and you will be able to start the GPS navigation based on the address provided by the pet business owner on the listing.We hope you all will love these new features and will find them very useful. PetJava.com – What is PetJava and how we came up with this Pet centric social network

I was exploring the idea of using the power of the web where pet owners are able to create some sort of a group where they can share their experiences, their pet’s pictures, videos and stories and be able to ask questions and be able to find pet care service providers, pet businesses that provide services like vet clinic, groomer, walker or even the most healthy choices in the food category for a particular breed of a pet and what other people have had experiences with those service providers and what rating they would have provided.

Unfortunately, even in this digital age, I could not find any single platform which was dedicated to pet owners and pet business owners all interacting with each other and is also visible to all other pet owners so as to help them with the information that they require almost on a daily basis.

This vacuum itself was the trigger for designing PetJava –World’s first pet social network. This platform is designed in such a way so as to allow pet owners to create their own pet’s profiles, connect with other pet owners and create their pet’s circle of pet friends and also expand on that circle to add pet business owners and service providers. In this way, the pet owner is able to interact easily with all the pet business owners or service providers.

The pet owner can create profiles of all of their pets (eg. Dogs, cats, birds etc) and then can create pet’s circle for each of those pets consisting of pet friends or pet business or service provider like pet food, vet clinic, pet medication, dog park, dog groomer or SPA etc. You start by adding each of these pet business into your pet’s circle and then you can also start providing service reviews or ratings for these pet businesses.

Pet business owners can also start this process on their own by creating their own pet business profile and start inviting their own customers. By doing this, they get added to their pet customer’s circle automatically. Pet business owners can from time to time post deals and promotions catering to their customers and pet owners who are able to see these promotions or deals from a pet business can share this so as to make it visible to all other pet owners in his/her pet’s circle.

Some of the core functionalities of PetJava.com are as follows:

This is where you as a pet owner define all of your pets in your own family and define their profiles like name, date of birth (if you know it), breed, source how you got this pet etc. You also upload a profile picture of this pet. PetJava.com allows you to maintain multiple pets

You start your pet’s journey by adding pets by first selecting the pet type.

You can then provide all other details of your pet and upload a profile picture of your own pet.

This is the heart of the system and it allows you to create a complete pet circle for your pet which may consist of 3 basic components.

Memories
- You can add stories or memories of your pet
- You can add pictures or videos of your pet.
- You can share any of these memories with other pet friends.

The first time you login and you are ready to add memories to your pet’s circle, the default circle is Memories and it will be part of your pet’s circle.

Friends
- This is where you start inviting other pet friends and add them to your pet’s circle.

On accepting the request from the other pet, these 2 pets are now connected and the new pet is part of the current pet’s circle.
By clicking on the friends icon, you get to see the list of friends.

Pet Businesses
- This is where you start inviting pet businesses and add them to your pet’s circle. This could be the pet food and treats (most preferred food), pet supply store ( from where you buy most of the stuff for your pet), vet clinic – where you take your pet to get him/her medical treatment, pet walker, pet trainer, pet groomer etc. All these will be part of your pet’s circle and this is where you can provide reviews and ratings to each of those pet businesses and you can share those businesses with other pet friends.
  
  For Eg. You can add a Pet food/treat manufacturer to your pet’s circle by clicking on the Pet business icon. This will open the search window where you can select all the businesses that are associated with your pet. If they are not registered on PetJava.com, feel free to send them an invitation email. You can select the one’s that is directly related to your pet and add that business to your pet’s circle.

To summarize, you create a complete pet’s circle by adding all the 3 basic components related to your pet. These are Memories, Friends, Businesses.

This is something that our pet lovers are going to like it. Pet owners can post any pet lost or found notice on PetJava.com and all the pet friends in the neighbourhood are notified about the lost of found incidence and can be made aware of it.

I was are very much concerned about pet getting lost when I used to see lost pet notices being posted on the post boxes or light poles. I decided to bring true web functionality of “lost and found” on the social network whereas pet owners can post lost pet information and all the pet owners in a particular neighbourhood gets notified about that lost pet. Should they find the same pet, they can post the details and the owner gets notified and pet is happily united with the family.

You can report a lost or a found pet and pin point the same on Google map directly.

We are also launching “classifieds” functionality so as to help pet business to post some classified advertisements so as to help them reach their target customers. Pet owners in turn can search on classifieds to search for specific pet business provider.

All these functionalities are available on the web as well as mobile – Android and Apple iOS versions. These are some of the launch functionalities that we @PetJava.com decided to bring to the the pet world. We have lined up some very exciting features and functionalities – both on web and mobile versions and will be announcing these in near future.
